Our Story

Dr. Holtman's Journey to Vantage Point Eyes

After taking an anatomy class in my first semester of college - I was fascinated by how small yet complex the eyeball was.  This led me to shadow a couple of the optometrists in town and simply put - I was hooked.
 

Fast forward to optometry school where I was in the Brain Injury clinic at my school and got to experience the life-changing effects of Neurovision Rehabilitation - my passion was found.  This led me to pursue additional training after optometry school in the areas of pediatrics, brain injury, and vision therapy - taking me to the east coast.  See the Pediatrics and Brain Injury / Vision Rehabilitation pages for more information on my time spent in New Hampshire!

After residency, I switched coasts and moved to the beautiful state of Washington for a job opportunity that allowed me to grow my skills and further develop my passion for Private Practice optometry.  I knew I wanted to open my own practice someday and in 2020 I got the opportunity to start that process in the midst of a global pandemic.  I moved back to my home state of Minnesota and decided upon Woodbury as my new home.

Being from ‘Up North’ I wanted to bring some of that feeling down to the Twin Cities Metro and thus Vantage Point Eyes was born - with a cozy cabin oasis feel and welcoming atmosphere.
