Our Doctor

​​​​​Dr. Holtman grew up in Bemidji, MN, and graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and minors in Biology and Psychology; she pursued her doctorate at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ.

While in optometry school, she helped provide underserved populations with eye care services from downtown Phoenix to Tijuana, Mexico.  She completed clinical rotations in ocular disease with the VA in Memphis, TN, and two private practices.  The first was a private practice in Prescott, AZ, under the direction of an ophthalmologist gaining experience with neuro-ophthalmology, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.  And the second was in Kansas City, MO under a phenomenal mentor co-managing with ophthalmologists specializing in glaucoma, corneal diseases, and cataracts.

After finishing her schooling in Arizona, she went to New Hampshire, completed her residency, and explored New England.  The residency training included pediatrics, vision therapy and rehabilitation, and brain injury.   She gained extensive experience with special population patients, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Down Syndrome, and more.

Dr. Holtman then moved clear across the country to Washington State for a couple of years before moving home to Minnesota in the spring of 2020.  After providing eye care to patients all around the country, Dr. Holtman has determined that the patients in the Midwest are the best and is very glad to provide exceptional eye care here for the rest of her career. 

In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, hunting, hiking, traveling, volunteering, reading, taking personality tests, and spending time with her family and dog Miles (a Whoodle).
